Despite the challenges of this intense monsoon season, we are thrilled to share that the stone masonry and reinforced steel foundation for our new retreat facilities are complete. Overcoming unstable terrain and torrential downpours, our local team has successfully hand-dug and filled twelve massive 6x6-foot structural pits to safely anchor the structure into the fragile mountain slope.

🎥 Hardship and Devotion on the Slope: To safely anchor the retreat house, our local team braved the monsoon elements to manually dig twelve 6x6-foot structural pits and carry every boulder and concrete bag down the steep, wet slope by hand. 🙏🌧️⛰️

We have officially moved past the subterranean challenges and are already hard at work on the ground floor of the Place of Retreat! Work at the site is progressing rapidly: the door and window frames are installed, and the permanent stairs are now rising towards the next levels. Thanks to the quiet devotion of our team working on the steep slope facing Tibet and the majestic Himalayas, this humble sanctuary for inner healing and global peace continues to take root.

This upcoming phase includes building additional retreat rooms, the kitchen, and the communal dining hall, alongside vital slope-stabilisation engineering and monsoon weatherproofing.
